Hilton today announced the extension of Free Weekend Night Rewards certificates issued for cobranded Amex cardholders in the United States and certificates issued for members with Advance Purchase cancellations in 2020.
There are four sets of expiry rules depending on when your certificates were issued. Things to note is that certificates issued in 2022 expire 12 months from the date of issuance.

Also, today, we announced that we are extending Free Weekend Night Rewards*. Details are as follows should you be intereted in sharing with your readers:
- Free Weekend Night Rewards issued through June 30, 2020 have been extended and will now expire July 1, 2022.
- Free Weekend Night Rewards issued between July 1 – December 31, 2020 expire 24 months from date of issuance.
- Free Weekend Night Rewards issued between January 1 – December 31, 2021 will expire December 31, 2022.
- Free Weekend Night Rewards issued between January 1 – December 31, 2022 will expire 12 months from the date of issuance.
*These extensions also apply to non-American Express Free Night Rewards, including Hilton Honors members with Advance Purchase cancellations in 2020 who opted for Free Night Rewards as a refund option.

Conclusion
Hilton has been very good at taking care of its Honors members during this pandemic that hopefully comes to an end in 2022. So it is good that they have now decided to extend some certificates further and communicate that those issued in 2022 expire per their usual rules.
