Anyone who has tried to access their IHG One Rewards account, reach IHG contact centers, or book a hotel on their website or app, has soon realized that IHG’s systems are down.
The outage started roughly 9 PM ET on September 4, 2022, and is still continuing more than 12 hours later. IHG states on its website that this would be “scheduled” maintenance, which undoubtedly is not a true statement.

Conclusion
It is a public holiday in the United States, and obviously, something didn’t go as planned when the entire website functionality and contact centers have been down for 12+ hours.
Let’s hope that this is just an update “glitch” they can roll back and nothing more nefarious, like what happened with Nordic Choice earlier this year (read more here).
